About POP Farmers

POP farmers, is a group of organized farmers who own farms in Karameno sublocation. For now the group has a controlled number of 22 farmers for the reasons that if it is larger it may be hard to manage. The aim of POP Self Help Group is to expand into a bigger organization to be able to hold more people.

Tree Planting and Tree Nurseries Projects

The projects facing POP Farmers right now especially on lack of water track back to the last 20 to 30 years when the environment started being degraded due to tree felling and charcoal burning. The environment back then was always a cool and very productive area. This is no longer the case. The soil was exposed to the sun as well as soil erosion leaving a much degraded environment that can barely give a good production.

Being Part of POP Groups

If you would want to join us you can form a group in your area, register it with the government and then contact us to give you a page on this website for your group. You will also be required to work with the senior person so that you can follow up POP rules and regulations.
